Los Blancos continue to face a nightmare of injuries, with only three fit players taking the field today.
If there were doubts before, it's official now; Real Madrid are in crisis.
Last night's 3-1 trouncing at the hands of Liga minnows Getafe was one of Real Madrid's worst performances all season. There was serious lack of firepower up front, no creativity in midfield, and an extremely shaky back line comprised of a mere three players.
The injury crisis at Valdebebas has taken its toll though, and today was no exception as only three of Bernd Schuster's men managed to complete full training.
Javi Garcia, Cristoph Metzelder, and Alberto Bueno, who has found himself a regular in the coach's squad list, did physical exercises with trainer Jordi Garcia. Being too little a number to do anything productive, Schuster ordered the trio to do some ball-work and practice keeping possession.
The good news of the day was the return of Fabio Cannavaro, Gonzalo Higuain, Mahamadou Diarra, and Arjen Robben to the field. Although they are nowhere near match-fit, the players did some light jogging and played a short game of one-touch football in a square.
The players who played last night did recovery exercises in the gym, save Pepe, Miguel Torres, and Wesley Sneijder, who underwent some tests to determine the seriousness of their injuries.
Ruben de la Red and Ruud van Nistelrooy have yet to return to training, after both receiving very serious injuries earlier this month.
It remains unknown who will recover in time for the vital clash against Sevilla next weekend, a game that could either make or break Real Madrid's season.
