Emmanuel Adebayor is prepared to bide his time if it means he can seal a move to Real Madrid.
Adebayor joined Madrid on loan from Manchester City in January and has made no secret of his desire to become a permanent part of Jose Mourinho's squad.
When asked about his future, he told Marca: "We have to wait. I have it clear that I want to play for Madrid and I will wait until the last day. I'm not going to sign for any team until August 31. I will wait for them until the last day at 11 at night."
"If then Madrid have decided not to buy me, I will search for another team."
The 27-year-old Togolese forward added about his chances of returning to Madrid, for whom he scored eight goals during his loan spell, he added: "I think that I'm an option."
"I honestly think that I left a good impression there. I arrived for six months and I did everything I could for the shirt."
"I settled in quickly, I played and scored goals. I did my job, although I can give more."
" Mourinho told me that he would do everything he could for me to return to Madrid. We had a good relationship, I think that he was happy with me."
"For me, Madrid are everything. I love the club."
