Arsenal are investigating the possibility of a sensational swap deal with Real Madrid, with Unai Emery keen to offload Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners recruitment team are looking into whether a deal can be manufactured with the current European champions, which would see Isco come to the Emirates.
Ozil’s future at Arsenal remains under the microscope, with Emery unconvinced if he has a future at the club, and the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla manager is willing to use him in order to facilitate a deal for the Spain international.
Ozil’s £300,000-a-week contract looks set to make him difficult to offload but Madrid are preparing for a huge summer overhaul, with big names expected to come and go from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The German World Cup figure remains a popular figure at the club after his three-year spell before joining the Gunners.
Real chiefs are concerned by the 26-year-old’s fitness and form and he has been a peripheral figure for the La Liga giants this season.
However, Madrid would still demand a fee of £100million for his services, meaning Arsenal would likely have to stump up a fee in any potential swap deal, according to The Independent.
